Welcome—I’m Austin Lewis. Like Barney’s magic sack, there’s a lot going on inside of my head.

I’m a writer, an overthinker, a father, just a guy with way too much life experience for his age. A major aspect of my life is that I am a Marine Corps veteran. My journey with words began in the service, scribbled into notebooks between deployment and various missions, or my unsavory life choices. What started as therapy slowly evolved into a lifelong love affair with language.

Poetry is my anchor—my mainline to the soul—but I’ve wandered freely through the literary wilds: from short stories to long-form fiction, essays to op-eds, and everything in between. If there’s a way to shape experience into sentence, I’ve probably tried it.
